- Jeff presented "Bud's Bebop" research presentation at the 2020 JEN Conference (New Orleans)

- Jeff Presented the Music of Hank Jones and Interaction in Small Jazz Ensembles (clinic) at the 2020 FMEA Conference (Tampa)

- "Celebrating the music of Wayne Shorter with Guest Artist Jeff Benatar" featuring Jeff Benatar (piano) with UMASS faculty Felipe Salles (sax), Thomas Giampietro (drums), and Fumi Tomita (bass). October 27, 2019 at 7:30. Bezanson Recital Hall (UMASS Amherst).

- Fort Harrod Jazz Festival (All Brazilian Music) in Harrodsburg, KY, on September 14th, 2018 at 8:30 PM

A few recent performances, presentations, lectures, or recitals from 2017.

- Jeff will be performing with his Duo at the Brighton Memorial Library on April 15th, 2018 as the featured group for the Sunday Serenades series for Jazz Appreciation Month.

- Jeff presented "The Evolution of James P. Johnson’s Carolina Shout'" at the Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies at Cornell University on May 6th, 2017.

- Jeff performed with Saxology led by Charles Pillow at Hatch Hall at the Eastman School of Music on March 22nd, 2017.

- Jeff recently presented unique research on Hank Jones' original compositions and improvisations at the Jazz Educators Network on January 7th, 2017.

- Jeff performed as part of the Eastman Jazz Chamber Ensemble at the main-stage at the Jazz Education Network Convention (a mixed faculty and student ensemble with special guests Harold Danko and David Paich) on January 4th, 2017

Presentations, recitals, compositions and research:

- Benatar's original composition and arrangement of "Hank and Joe" for septet is called "superb" and "intense" by JazzTimes magazine.

- Jeff Benatar was nominated for the Lecture Recital Prize for his Lecture Recital that took place on September 4th, 2016 in the Cimminelli Formal Lounge.

- Benatar's original composition and arrangement of "Hank and Joe" for septet was selected to be on the newest edition of Jazz at Eastman CD (Eastman Jazz 2015-16 is used as promotional material for the Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media Department at the Eastman School of Music.  It was produced by Jeff Campbell and Clay Jenkins and recorded at The Studios at Linden Oaks in Rochester, NY)

- Benatar presented his second doctoral recital of duos based entirely on the music of pianist/composers on September 21st, 2015.  Selected recordings on the Reverb nation widget on the side of every page and ALL VIDEOS NOW AVAILABLE.

- Benatar presented a recital featuring the music/compositions of Hank Jones at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY on March 21st, 2015 and at the Brighton Memorial Library, in Brighton, NY on March 15th, 2015.  Much of this music can be found on the reverb nation player on the right hand side of the pages.

- Benatar presented Planing and Referential Soloing: The Ultimate Variation at the Leeds (England) International Jazz Education Conference March 29-30, 2012. The paper focuses on Herbie Hancock's solo on Wayne Shorter's Witch Hunt.
