Jeff Benatar's composition "Hank and Joe" was recently called "superb" and "intense" by JazzTimes Magazine (November 2016).

Jeff Benatar is a Jazz Pianist with a passion for teaching. Dr. Benatar is an Assistant Professor of Music, the Director of Jazz Studies/Coordinator of Music Management, at Florida Southern College (Lakeland, FL). 

Benatar received his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Studies (Piano) and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music, with a minor in Pedagogy. He earned his MA at the world's only Jazz History and Research program at Rutgers-Newark, The State University of New Jersey, where wrote a Master's thesis at the Institute of Jazz Studies (for which he received a research award). Benatar was the first Jazz Piano Performance student at The Ohio State University to graduate with Honors.
